This 2018 raw (sheng) Pu'erh tea cake comes from the ancient tea mountains of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province. Made from large-leaf arbor tea trees and traditionally stone-pressed into a 357g cake, it has been naturally aged for years, softening the initial bitterness and developing complexity. Raw Pu'erh is prized for its digestive benefits and can be aged for decades, improving with time like fine wine.

Ingredients

100% Raw Pu'erh (Camellia sinensis var. assamica) large-leaf tea

Suggested Use

Break off 5-7g of tea from the cake. Rinse briefly with boiling water, discard, then steep for 20-30 seconds. Can be steeped 8-12 times, adding 10 seconds to each infusion.

Contraindications

Contains caffeine (about 30-50mg per cup). Raw Pu'erh can be strong - start with smaller amounts. Not on empty stomach for those with sensitive digestion.
